Dear Community Member,
In 2019 the Kansas Cannons placed 3rd at the 85th Annual National Baseball Congress World Series with several players receiving tournament honors.
For the last 85 years, the National Baseball Congress (NBC) has been the destination for elite collegiate and amateur baseball and professional league hopefuls. Since its start, the NBC has had more than 800 big-league players pass through, including names like Ralph Houk, Whitey Herzog, Dick Sanders, Tom Seaver, Don Sutton, Dave Winfield, Ozzie Smith, Joe Carter, Charlie O’Brien, Kirk Gibson, Tony Gwynn, Will Clark, Rafael Palmeiro, Barry Bonds, Ron Guidry, Chris Chambliss and Paul Goldschmidt, to list a few. There are many, many more and many yet to come!
The Kansas Cannons were established in 2010 and have had 17 players go on to play professionally. 13 in MLB organizations, 4 with Independent teams. 2 of those Indy guys played professionally in Europe and Australia. The Kansas Cannons are made-up-of collegiate players from all over the US, with an occasional player from Japan, Latin-America, or Canada. This year we’ll have 15 of approximately 30 players on our roster that are originally from this area (Augusta, Wichita & El Dorado).
In 2016 the Kansas Cannons moved to Augusta making Rodney Wheeler Stadium their home. Kansas Cannons’ players support our local community through volunteer work and mentoring on their days off. Working with little-leaguers, reading with kids at the library, etc.
Our fundraising goal is to cover expenses associated with running this organization such as uniforms, officials, equipment, league fees, and travel. We rely on our fundraising events and the support and sponsorship of local businesses. We have several different sponsor levels available with benefits to your company. See below for a breakdown of benefits per giving level.
We do hope you will consider donating to the Kansas Cannons. Donations may be made through our website by clicking here or checks may be payable to: Kansas Cannons Baseball and mailed to: Kansas Cannons Baseball, PO Box 5, Augusta, KS 67010. The Kansas Cannons are a 501( c ) 3 non profit organization. Your donations and sponsorships are tax deductible.
Thank you in advance for your donation. We look forward to seeing you at the ball field this summer. Our home opener is scheduled for Saturday, May 30th at 7pm.
Respectfully,
Rod Stevenson
