Host a Cannon!
Collegiate summer baseball players come to Augusta from all around the country, and they need a place to stay. We always need host families, and this is a chance for your family to be part of the Cannons organization, get to know a player on a personal basis, and be directly involved with the team! You never know you may be hosting the next Major League All-Star.
Many of our players are miles from home, some for the first time. For their families this can be a very stressful situation not being able to provide for their sons. As a host family you can provide a safe, loving environment for a player that will allow them to focus on baseball and provide their families the reassurance that their son is being well taken care of. As the host family coordinator I have talked with many of the parents of our hosted players and time and time again they tell me how comforting it is to know that their son is in a great home. On the flip side, every host family we have had during the last three years have said the same thing. They love hosting a player and most of them still stay in contact with players they have hosted in the past. Most of our host families have now hosted multiple years and look forward to the next summer of Cannon's baseball.
Throughout the history of the Cannon's we have prided ourselves selecting not only great players but great young men of character. These young men are very focused on baseball and are striving to make the step to the next level in their playing career. They are very respectful of the home they are staying in and even going so far as to mentor their younger host siblings while sharing their love of baseball with their host parents.
If you would like to host a Cannons player for the summer, please contact Eric & Angie Becker at [email protected] for more information.
